Your data stays on your devices.
LinkMyMac on Android and LinkMyDroid on Mac/iPad are designed for direct device-to-device communication instead of cloud relay.
Data used to provide the app
The apps can access data you explicitly enable for product features, such as clipboard contents, transferred files, notifications, messages, contacts, and media previews.
This data is used to synchronize features between your own devices and is not intended for advertising or third-party data resale.
Direct transport
LinkMyMac uses local network, USB, and peer-to-peer transfer paths between your devices. The product is built around local transport rather than a hosted account system.
When devices are paired, data is transmitted only to the device you paired with for the requested feature flow.
Why permissions are requested
- Notification access: mirror phone notifications to your desktop or iPad.
- Contacts and SMS: show conversations and contact details on companion devices.
- Media and file access: send, receive, preview, and save transferred content.
- Network and USB access: connect your devices directly.
