Feature

Universal Clipboard

Copy on Android and paste on Mac, or copy on Mac and paste on Android. The clipboard workflow is designed for text, images, and URLs, with Android shortcuts such as the in-app and text selection push actions.

Feature

Instant File Transfer

Move photos, videos, documents, and other files between devices over Wi-Fi or USB. LinkMyMac is built around direct transfer rather than cloud upload and includes share-driven workflows.

For the transfer-specific workflow, read Android to Mac file transfer.

Feature

Photos, files, and Android storage browser

Mac and iPad can browse Android photos, videos, downloads, and folders so you can preview what you need before transferring. Large folders and original media can use the best available local path for the current connection.

Feature

Notification Mirror

Android notifications can appear on Mac so you can stay on the desktop instead of constantly checking your phone. Quick replies are available when Android exposes supported reply actions.

For the notifications workflow, read Android notifications on Mac.

Feature

Screen Mirroring

LinkMyMac can mirror your Android screen to Mac so you can view it in real time and work from a larger display during supported workflows.

Feature (Mac only)

Android app control

During supported Mac mirror workflows, LinkMyMac can expose the Android app list so you can launch or switch phone apps from the desktop instead of reaching back to the handset.

Feature

Call Handling

Incoming call events can surface on Mac with caller details and supported controls such as answer, decline, or mute depending on the available platform behavior.

Feature

Contacts and caller context

Contacts can be browsed from companion devices and used for context around calls and messages. Contact-dependent features require the relevant Android permissions.

Feature (Mac only)

Virtual Webcam

Use your Android phone's camera as a Mac webcam. Once the camera extension is registered, select "LinkMyDroid Camera" in Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, FaceTime, or any video app. The camera starts automatically. Switch between front and back camera from the Mac controls.

Version 1.53 improves Camera Live controls and setup guidance. If the camera extension does not appear after updating the Mac app, restart the Mac once so macOS can reload the extension.

For the webcam workflow, read How to use Android as a Mac webcam.

Feature (Mac only)

Virtual Microphone

Stream your Android phone's microphone to your Mac as a system audio input. Select "LinkMyDroid Mic" in any app that accepts a microphone: calls, recordings, voice memos, or streaming software.

Feature

URL Handoff

Move links between Android and Mac quickly so they open on the other device without manual copying into email or notes.

Feature

Media Remote

Control playback on Android from Mac with actions such as play, pause, skip, and track visibility including album art and now playing information where available.

For the messages workflow, read Android messages on Mac.
