Your data stays on your devices.
LinkMyMac on Android, LinkMyDroid on Mac/iPad, and LinkMyDrop for iPhone and Android transfers are designed for direct device-to-device communication instead of cloud relay.
Data used to provide the app
The apps can access data you explicitly enable for product features, such as clipboard contents, transferred files, notifications, messages, contacts, media previews, LinkMyDrop transfer items, text snippets, and profile details you choose to send.
This data is used to synchronize features between your own devices and is not intended for advertising or third-party data resale.
Direct transport
LinkMyMac uses local network, USB, and peer-to-peer transfer paths between your devices. The product is built around local transport rather than a hosted account system.
When devices are paired, data is transmitted only to the device you paired with for the requested feature flow.
iPhone and Android drops
LinkMyDrop can use QR codes, NFC where supported, or manual invite details to start a nearby transfer session. The actual photos, videos, files, text, or profile details you send move over the local connection between the selected devices.
Received LinkMyDrop items are stored locally on the receiving device. On iPhone, received items can remain in LinkMyDrop until you share or save them. On Android, received media and files are saved into local device storage.
