Help for LinkMyMac, LinkMyDroid, and LinkMyDrop.
Find setup steps, pairing checks, feature guides, and troubleshooting help for Android phones and tablets, Mac, iPad, iPhone, and local device-to-device transfers.
Install and pair your devices
- Install LinkMyMac on your Android phone or tablet from the Play Store.
- Install LinkMyDroid on Mac or iPad from the Apple App Store.
- Open the Mac or iPad app and keep the pairing window open.
- Open the Android app and scan the QR code to pair.
- Allow the requested Android permissions for the features you want to use.
Pairing or reconnecting does not work
Make sure both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network, Local Network access is allowed on Mac, and your firewall allows LinkMyDroid to accept incoming connections.
If Wi-Fi is unreliable, try USB and accept the Android USB prompt while LinkMyMac is open in the foreground.
For detailed setup help, use the support page or the FAQ.
Clipboard sync help
Clipboard sync should be enabled on both Android and Mac. On recent Android and Samsung devices, automatic Android-to-Mac clipboard sync may also require the LinkMyMac Accessibility service.
Read the Android clipboard on Mac guide for the full workflow.
Android notifications on Mac
Enable Android Notification Access for LinkMyMac to mirror alerts on your Mac. Supported notification actions, including replies, depend on what each Android app exposes.
Learn more in the Android notifications on Mac guide.
File transfer and photo browsing
LinkMyMac can browse Android storage, preview photos, and move files between Android and Mac over a local connection. USB and Wi-Fi are both supported.
Start with the Android to Mac file transfer guide.
Mirroring and Android permissions
Android requires a screen-sharing confirmation when using the official screen capture API. Keep the phone nearby when starting a mirror session, then approve the prompt on Android.
For the most reliable longer sessions, check Android battery settings and keep LinkMyMac allowed to run in the background.
Battery optimization
Android battery restrictions can pause background reconnect, clipboard, notifications, calls, and mirroring. If features stop after the phone sleeps, set LinkMyMac battery usage to Unrestricted.
Follow the battery optimization guide.
iPhone and Android transfers
LinkMyDrop moves photos, videos, files, text, and profile details between iPhone and Android over a direct local connection using QR, NFC where supported, or manual invites.
Open the LinkMyDrop guide for phone-to-phone setup.
